Mark Hendricks

Mark first started fishing the Au Sable & Manistee River systems in 1973. After retiring as Chief of a full-time Metro Detroit Fire Department in 2004 Mark and his wife relocated to the Manistee River.

A six-time President of the Mason Griffith Founders Chapter of Trout Unlimited, he currently serves on the Board of Directors for that chapter as well as the Au Sable Watershed Restoration

Committee and is an advisor the Upper Manistee River Association. He also served five years on the Board of Directors for The Anglers of The Au Sable.

An FFI Certified Casting Instructor, he’s been working at Gates Au Sable Lodge as Head Instructor for their fly casting and fly-fishing schools.  He guides on the days he’s not teaching.
